i cannot believe these summer nail art ideas exist

So, the other day, I stumbled upon this bizarre trend of summer nail art. Honestly, I didn’t even realize painting miniature palm trees and sunsets on nails was a thing. I mean, who wakes up and thinks, ‘Yes, my thumb needs a sunset today!’ But apparently, it’s a whole vibe.

I’ve seen some wild stuff before, but this really takes the cake. There are nails with watercolor effects that look like a Monet painting and others with neon colors that scream 80s aerobics class. It feels like every nail is trying to outdo the next one for ‘quirkiest design.’ And don’t even get me started on the rhinestones. Somewhere out there, a magpie is losing its mind over all the sparkles. I don’t understand how people go about their daily lives with mini disco balls attached to their fingers.

But I have to admit, despite my cynicism, there’s something oddly satisfying about seeing them pull it all together. Some folks really do make it work, like walking pieces of art. Still, can’t shake the feeling that I’d accidentally scrape the paint off or have my pinky become an unfortunate victim of a zipper attack.

Which reminds me, I once saw this list of nail art designs that had me questioning reality. I’m talking about nails that looked like tiny aquariums with fake fish (yes, you read that right). How do they even manage everyday tasks?

Anyway, maybe I’m missing the point. It’s not all about practicality, I guess. Maybe it’s just about having a slice of fun or chaos at your fingertips. But if you’re all for sitting like a statue while they dry, all the power to you. My eyes still hurt from all the colors. I’m sticking to plain old clear polish. For now. Ugh.
