DIY Pedicure: Hot Pink Summer Toes
Hello my Lovelies! And by lovelies, I mean those of you who haven’t given up on painting your own toenails, despite years of awkward foot contortions and shaky hands that resemble those of a caffeine-deprived barista. 🌱
Today’s mission, should you choose to accept, is to turn your natural long toenails into something that even Barbie would envy—hot pink perfection. Because nothing screams summer quite like toe nails in a shade so loud it could be heard over a stadium crowd.
Prep Those Piggies! 🐷
- Step 1: Start with a clean slate. Yes, I’m talking about removing old nail polish. If you’re still rockin’ last year’s holiday glitter, it’s time to let go. Nail polish remover, it’s your best friend.
- Step 2: Shape up those toenails. Use a nail file to round off or square those edges so you don’t look like a velociraptor. Buff them for smoothness, unless jagged edges are your thing.
- Step 3: Foot bath time. Treat your feet to a soak, like a mini spa day, minus the therapist named Sven. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oils if you’re feeling fancy.
- Step 4: Moisturize! Nobody likes feet that feel like sandpaper. This is your excuse to use that neon green foot lotion you bought on a whim during the fourth shopping spree of the quarantine.
Let’s Paint the Town (er, Toes) Pink! 🎨
- Step 5: Apply a base coat because your toenails deserve as much love as Julia Roberts gets in any rom-com.
- Step 6: Here comes the star of the show: Tops #08 Hot Pink! Apply the polish in smooth, even strokes like a zen monk—channel your inner serenity.
- Step 7: Wait, and I cannot stress this enough, wait for the first coat to dry. If you think it’s dry, wait another five minutes. Cue your Ecuadorian jazz playlist.
- Step 8: Apply a second coat to ensure your toes are the epitome of pink decadence.
- Step 9: Top it off with a top coat, for good measure and some extra shine because your toes haven’t been doing enough squats to shine on their own.
- Step 10: Let dry completely. Avoid smudging by doing absolutely nothing for the rest of the day. Self-care, am I right?
There you go, my ten-step guide to having toenails that could tempt any sandal-wearing passerby into a whirlpool of toe envy. Yes, you’ll want to keep these beauties out, even after the last summer barbecue becomes a hazy memory. 🌞
If you’re in need of inspiration, remember, Sally Hansen’s Fuchsia Power or Pampered in Pink are out there, waiting to transform your nails. But don’t forget the true hero of this tale, the superhero known as Tops #08.
