I just stumbled upon this bizarre yet oddly fascinating trend where people are using their hands as canvas for eye makeup. Like, yes, not just any eye makeup but full-on lids and lashes drawn right there on the back of your hand. I mean, is this what we’re doing now? Running out of face space, so we migrate to hands?

It’s not like I haven’t seen strange beauty stuff before. Remember the lip art craze? Yeah, this is giving me those vibes. The thing is, you might not actually go out rocking a hand-eye on a Tuesday afternoon (or maybe you would, who am I to judge?), but the artistry involved is kind of mind-blowing. I saw one design that was so freakishly real, it felt like an actual eye was just casually chilling on some girl’s palm.
Anyway, my curiosity took over, and I decided to try it out. Let me tell you, getting those lines straight on the weird contours of your hand is way harder than it looks. Hats off to those makeup artists who make it look effortless. Also, I couldn’t help but notice I got more nail polish on my hand than I could have imagined, which is kind of ironic considering how proud I was of my supposedly steady hand.

Now, I’m not saying we should all swap out canvas for body parts, but trying it out did make for a fun 30 minutes where I felt like part of some avant-garde gallery exhibition. Plus, it’s all about easy steps eye makeup, so nothing too technical (hello, blender sponges).
Would I do it again? Probably not. But I do appreciate the novelty. My eyes still hurt. I need coffee. Ugh.
