when did hair become sorcery?

So, these TikTok hairstyle hacks have become like modern witchcraft or something. I saw this girl trying to twist her hair using like ten different bobby pins while simultaneously holding a flat iron in the most awkward angle ever. Seriously, it’s like watching someone perform alchemy with hair.

Anyway, I stumbled across this attempt at some ‘triple rope braid meets waterfall effect’ monstrosity. Apparently, blindfolded origami skills have become a prerequisite for hairstyling. I mean, come on, who has the patience? Are we just pretending loose strands are part of the plan now?

The most hilarious was the ‘scrunchie donut’ thing. It’s supposed to give you those voluminous curls right from a 90’s teen movie. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t. I’ve seen hamsters with better-coiffed chaos.

Anyway, at this point, I give up. There’s something about turning my bathroom into a DIY hurricane that puts me off starting this. But props to the brave souls punching above their frizz level in these things. My scalp is not ready for this sorcery. Time for coffee or headscarves—either will do right now.
