Pearl Skin finish. Seriously? We’re now obsessed with looking like pearls instead of humans. This idiotic trend of wanting your face to resemble a freaking oyster’s jewelry creation baffles me. How did we jump from glass to pearls in such a short time frame? It’s almost like someone in a lab thought, ‘Hey, what if people wanted their face to look like it had a soft-focus, satin sheen instead of functioning skin?’ and everyone just nodded along, slapping fine mica particles as if they were some magic potion.
People genuinely believe this is a step up from that ‘wet’ Glass Skin look. Do they even realize how ridiculous this pearl-like glow seems in real life, especially under office lighting? Imagine walking into work looking like a human lampshade and thinking that’s okay because some trend said so. Give me a break. And let’s not forget the irony of using ‘primers with fine mica particles’. That’s just a prettier way of saying, ‘let’s dust some shiny stuff on our faces and pray no one notices it’s just glorified glitter’.
I’m not buying it, and neither should anyone who’s got even an ounce of self-awareness left. But hey, if you’re into alchemy on your skin, then go for it. It’s not like you could just read more realistic beauty trends here and save yourself from this madness. Whatever.
