Why are people putting so much effort into looking like a slightly dulled-down disco ball? So, ‘Pearl Skin’ finish is apparently ‘in’ now. It’s all about achieving this perfect satin glow. Oh, forgive me if I don’t leap with excitement at yet another excuse to spend way too much on products that end up making you look just like you normally do but slightly shinier. Yeah, I absolutely want everyone at the office to double-take and wonder if I’m draped in a veil of oceanic luminescence. How practical. And somehow the words ‘fine mica particles’ are supposed to tempt me into shelling out cash. It’s basically reminding me of arts and crafts time in kindergarten where we slathered Elmer’s glue and coated it with glitter. Only now it has a fancier name and hides in the form of overpriced primers that brag about their texture as if that’s selling point number one.

But hey, if annoying beauty fads are your thing, then by all means, dive neck-deep into this industry of endless ‘must-tries.’ Go stare at a lineup of bottles perched on shelves promising something your bare skin can’t grasp without this transformative elixir. Whatever.
