Honestly, trying to organize a beauty room is like herding cats. I found myself knee-deep in a pile of clothes, some with tags still on them (no surprise there), and makeup products I forgot I ever owned. My mission? To turn this chaotic circus into my dream beauty space. Or at least something that won’t give me a headache every time I walk in.

So I started with the clothes. Color coordination seems like a good idea until you realize everything you own is either black or a questionable shade of neon. But those clothes racks from IKEA are surprisingly helpful. They somehow make even my ugliest sweaters look chic. If only they could do the same for my high school band t-shirts.
Next up was the makeup. Now, I definitely have a lipstick hoarding problem. I’m not even sorry about it. The bright reds, softer pinks, those purples that looked a lot cooler online. They’re all staying, but at least now they’re living in these cute acrylic organizers (found them on sale and I feel like I scored a major win).

After a hefty battle with a box of tangled fairy lights (they win every time), I finally managed to hang them around the mirror. It doesn’t quite look like a Pinterest masterpiece, but it’s close enough. The lights make the entire room glow, and suddenly those neon clothes don’t seem all that bad.
Of course, there’s the ongoing debate with myself on whether I need another shelf or if it’s time to rent another room entirely for my collection. Maybe both. I saw this amazing guide on organizing and thought, why can’t my room look like that?
At the end of the day, the room is finally semi-organized and my sanity is somewhat intact. But seriously, who knew creating your dream beauty room could involve so much compromise?
Now if only I could find a way to stop buying more stuff. Yeah, like that’s going to happen. My eyes still hurt. I need coffee. Ugh.
